Just having some fun.

This is just a quick experiment from last night. Rendered in Vray.

”Hero” Work-in-Progress (Turntable movie/ZBrush)

I sculpted this hero-kind-of-figure in Zbrush the other night. It’s just a rough anatomy study for myself, trying to block in some forms working asymmetry. Since I was just playing around I never bothered to load any reference images in ZBrush, so proportions might be (are) totally off, but that was also kind of the experiment and challenge to me.

I used a ZSphere-rig to pose him. I don’t know what he’s doing, but I kind of like the pose… He’s into some kind of action. 🙂

Sennheizer HD-25, 1 hour modelling (3D)

Late night modelling exercise. I made these Sennhezier HD-25 earphones in one hour including lighting and rendering.

”Knights armor” – 4 hours of modelling/lighting (3D)

We got a request at work to model a knights armor for a car ad (!) and we discussed how much time we needed for that project. Later that night I wanted to try what I could come up with by spending a couple of hours in Cinema 4D. I used a basemesh (actually a WIP of my Bruce Lee model) as a doll to model the armor around. This is what I came up with in 4 hours, then I had to go and sleep… (including shaders and lighting, animation render and play in After Effects excluded)

This was just a personal test, so I am not planning to spend any more time on this. 🙂

Bruce sketch

I am about to start a new 3D sculpting project – ”Bruce Lee”. To do this I have collected lots of photographic references and I’m also making a lot of sketches of him to get a ”better sense” of his anatomy, finding the right pose and environment.

My main goal will be to try and capture Bruce Lee’s character and anatomy and at the same time have some good practice in more advanced sculpting and detailing. Hopefully I’ll also get a nice picture out of it! 🙂

King Frog (wip)

This is the work in progress of my ”King Frog”. He’s not a king yet, but I had some ideas of him being a king in some fun environment… don’t know, but that’s his name for now. 🙂 I made a quick base mesh in Cinema 4D and then I have focused on sculpting and texture painting in Zbrush so far. I will probably go back and lower the intensity here and there, some details look a bit rough right now…

I haven’t had much time for this frog lately, so the king part of him will have to wait… This is a test pose i did using a ZSphere rig and Transpose Master in Zbrush 4. I also painted some masks for his ”toes” using Bodypaint and then played around with some Sub-surface scattering.

”Tjernobyl Easter Chicken”

Concept/wip. Had plans to create some ”Factory Easter environment” for this poor chicken, but Easter came quickly and I wasn’t finished with this, so I just had to let it go… I modelled a base mesh in Cinema 4D and sculpted the details and painted the texture maps in Zbrush 4. This is a quick render in Cinema 4D using low AA-settings.
