Sculpted skull (3D/ZBrush)

From left to right you can see my sculpting progress in ZBrush 4 (ZBrush 4R2b today!). I started off by blocking in all the forms using a standard DynaMesh sphere and the basic clay brushes. As references I used my little Anatomytools skull plus some images from one of my anatomy books.

The upper row of teeth were sculpted from the same mesh as the main head while I used a different approach for the bottom jaw and teeth. I created those parts as simple base meshes in Cinema 4D which I refined in Zbrush, jumping back and forth between the apps a couple of times, using GoZ.

Water steps (3D)

Inspired by some image I found when searching the web. This is a new render of my old ”water steps” image. I’ve changed the lighting to a HDR gradient plane and I think it made this image look more vivid when it comes to overall lighting, caustics and the smooth reflections.

Watch modelling (3D)

CLICK THE IMAGE FOR FULL QUALITY. This was my entry for the ”Watch Challenge” over at c4dcafe.com back in november 2008. I used Cinema 4D for all modelling and Maxwell Render for lighting and final output.

”Knights armor” – 4 hours of modelling/lighting (3D)

We got a request at work to model a knights armor for a car ad (!) and we discussed how much time we needed for that project. Later that night I wanted to try what I could come up with by spending a couple of hours in Cinema 4D. I used a basemesh (actually a WIP of my Bruce Lee model) as a doll to model the armor around. This is what I came up with in 4 hours, then I had to go and sleep… (including shaders and lighting, animation render and play in After Effects excluded)

This was just a personal test, so I am not planning to spend any more time on this. 🙂

Dajm chocolate bar (3D)

(click the image to see the movie)

I sculpted this Dajm chocolate bar in Zbrush 4. Some parts of the movie was animated and rendered directly in ZBrush while I used Cinema 4D to animate and render the wireframe. I’m just learning my way around in After Effects also, so I took the opportunity and had some fun with some audio also. Nothing serious! 🙂

Fat lady (Zbrush/Cinema 4D)

I’ve been playing around with this fat lady in Zbrush, on and off for the last couple of months. This is a posed version I rendered today, just using Cinema’s Advanced Render.

King Frog (wip)

This is the work in progress of my ”King Frog”. He’s not a king yet, but I had some ideas of him being a king in some fun environment… don’t know, but that’s his name for now. 🙂 I made a quick base mesh in Cinema 4D and then I have focused on sculpting and texture painting in Zbrush so far. I will probably go back and lower the intensity here and there, some details look a bit rough right now…

2 February, 2011
I haven’t had much time for this frog lately, so the king part of him will have to wait… This is a test pose i did using a ZSphere rig and Transpose Master in Zbrush 4. I also painted some masks for his ”toes” using Bodypaint and then played around with some Sub-surface scattering.

Lollipop in Cinema 4D (2008)

I found this lollipop in my ”archives”. It’s modelled and rendered with Cinema 4D in early 2008.

Rigid Body simulation for construction company

An image I did for a construction company together with Tommie Nordholm (APDF). The stones were simulated as rigid bodies in Realflow and I modelled a very simple proxy of the construction worker and animated him flying through the wall. I brought all pieces into Cinema 4D and rendered it using Maxwell Render. Photos and rendered elements were then composed together in Photoshop.
